Thank you

#thankyou

In Shona, we say: ‘Kusatenda huroyi’ meaning “To not express gratitude is witchcraft.”

Thank you for supporting my #book and #ebook Greener Pastures beyond Mt.Abuse and the speaking engagements in 2021.

I loved sharing my story so people can learn from it and raise questions that demand all of us to have serious conversations. I started the year unsure of what the year held besides knowing that I would continue to do what I loved best that is sharing my journey of recovery from domestic violence and abuse on Blog | Tinashe La if my website results are anything to go by it was a good year.

Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” I want to thank Unleashed Youth Group for inviting me to share on domestic violence and abuse. We ran out of time and I didn’t get to say much on the subject and two young handsome man at the event through their feedback prompted me to organise an event to support #whiteribbon Australia on the 28th of August 2021 which was a perfect birthday present.

Through the event we raised and donated $433, thank you to everyone who donated.

Since I joined the #mystory #mytime advocates for Ruah I have been blessed to do a lot of work in the Family Violence and Abuse sector. We worked with Ruah and Mills Wilson on some amazing videos that will be released later this year.

Through the different work we do I was also able to work on the FDV Service Directory project with the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing and WACOSS which is a first in Western Australia so I am humbled to have been part of this. You’ll find the Directory at cwsw.org.au/directory

In November I had an interview providing feedback to the National Plan through Monash University – Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre to help reduce violence against women and children. I also worked with journalism students from Curtin University as they wanted to have an interview with me to learn more about my journey and the advocacy work that I do now. I am thankful for the opportunity and also thankful for Seven West Media for the space to do the recording.

A young gentleman finished reading my book and requested for a book review catch up which prompted me to have another event in November. Thank you to those who showed up!!

  1. Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
